ABI Legends in Manufacturing Awards

The Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI) and Elevate Advanced Manufacturing recognized five manufacturing leaders at their sixth annual Legends in Manufacturing dinner, the state’s largest event dedicated to advanced manufacturing.

The five Legends in Manufacturing leaders were chosen out of hundreds of nominations for their contributions to Iowa’s largest industry, their leadership in their companies and their engagement in activities supporting manufacturing.

“This year’s Legends in Manufacturing play a significant role in promoting advanced manufacturing, which contributes $29 billion annually to Iowa’s economy,” ABI President Mike Ralston said. “They are statewide educators and are at the forefront of collaborating with other community leaders to build Iowa’s workforce. They are constantly strategizing on how to strengthen the manufacturing industry.”

Please help us in congratulating this year’s Legends in Manufacturing.

About ABI

The Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI) is the voice of Iowa business. It is Iowa’s oldest and largest business network, representing 1,500 businesses that employ more than 333,000 Iowans.

ABI began in 1903 as a state manufacturers association and today approximately half of its members are manufacturers. ABI continues to be Iowa’s champion for the manufacturing industry by offering manufacturing-specific programming, peer learning, networking and promotion of manufacturing as a career of choice.

ABI benefits members by advocating on their behalf at the Statehouse, connecting them with decision-makers to share ideas and services, and offering solutions and best practices for issues that affect their businesses. Membership in ABI will benefit your bottom line and likely bolster your prospect pipeline. As a member of ABI, you receive:

Around-the-clock representation on policy issues

ABI has two full-time lobbyists who represent general business issues at the Capitol every day of the legislative session. The ABI policy team also works closely with state departments to ensure the concerns of Iowa businesses are heard during the administrative process. ABI’s public policy committees provide members an opportunity to get even more involved in the policy development process.

Access to fellow business leaders

ABI offers events throughout the year that attract business leaders from around the state. Whether you work for a small business just starting out or the executive of an established company, ABI offers an outlet to connect with peers and colleagues, as well as potential clients, mentors and business partners.

Discounts on products and services

Participants in the Buy ABI affinity program offer discounts, extra benefits and customized services to fellow ABI members, saving members money and guiding them on the path to greater success.

Elevate Advanced Manufacturing

Elevate Advanced Manufacturing is a statewide, integrated marketing campaign to promote careers and educational pathways in advanced manufacturing. This begins with building a positive perception of these careers while addressing misconceptions of work environment, safety, and wages. Elevate offers resources to the public specifically targeting those eligible for Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) for workers, unemployed/underemployed Iowans, U.S. veterans, educators, along with K-12 students and their families.
