Iowa’s economy is resilient, but challenges remain over labor shortages, supply chain disruptions and inflation. During its Manufacturing Forecast, the Business Record will discuss how manufacturing and Iowa’s economy are faring and look ahead to 2024. A panel of leaders from the manufacturing sector will discuss how companies are coping with still-high inflation and high interest rates, how those factors are affecting capital investment decisions, and strategies to find workers to fill open positions and overcome ongoing supply chain disruptions. We will also discuss how companies are planning as economists forecast an economic downturn and possible recession early in 2024.
